Egypt has launched its first industrial robot developed locally by Egyptian engineers and technology company RaedBots on Wednesday, 23 September, marking a new push to build not just products in Egypt, but the technology and machinery behind them. The robot was unveiled through a collaboration between RaedBots, the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC), and Egyptian manufacturing company CUBII Industrial Solutions. The newly launched robot is being integrated into machinery produced by CUBII, an Egyptian manufacturer specialising in automated food-filling and packaging machines as well as customised industrial automation systems. CUBII already exports its products to markets across Africa, the Middle East and Europe, giving the robot a chance to be tested within a company that operates beyond the Egyptian market.
