Muhammad Mustafa and the Visual World Behind Cairokee’s Album Covers
Source: https://egyptianstreets.com/feed/

Cairokee, formed in 2003 by childhood friends Amir Eid, Sherif El Hawary, Tamer Hashem, Sherif Mostafa, and Adam El Alfy, did not garner admiration and fans through music alone as the cover art matters just as much, acting like a second voice alongside the songs. The band rose to prominence across Egypt and the Arab world after the 2011 Revolution, as protest anthems like Sout El Horeya (Voice of Freedom) and Matloob Zaeem (A Leader Wanted) became popular. Over time, they have grown into a fully independent, self-managed band, gaining popularity nationwide. That same independent spirit runs through their visuals. The artist behind some of Cairokee’s most iconic album covers is Muhammad Mustafa.  His work enters the conversation at a point that feels almost natural, according to him, beginning through music rather than album art.  “I actually started when I got involved in the illustrations for the Marboot Beastek (Tied with a rubber band) music video,” which is how he met Eid and became friends, he told Egyptian Streets. EgyptAir to Launch Sydney–Cairo Flight in 2027
Source: https://egyptianstreets.com/feed/

EgyptAir plans to introduce a new service connecting Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport in Australia to Cairo via Singapore Changi Airport starting from 2027 to create a direct link between Australia and Egypt.  Sydney Airport confirmed the proposal on Wednesday, 9 September, following EgyptAir’s disclosure of the route at the El Alamein International Airshow in Egypt which ran  from 8 to 10 September.   However, the service is still subject to regulatory approval. The proposed route is expected to be operated using the Airbus A350-900, to provide travellers with easier access to Egypt and offer more connections across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East through EgyptAir’s network.  The proposed Sydney–Singapore–Cairo link covers approximately 7,859 nautical miles, or around 14,555 kilometres, each way.  With the launch planned for 2027, EgyptAir is expected to become the second African airline to fly to Australia, following South African Airways.  Sydney airport stated that the service would become the first direct link from Sydney to Cairo for Singapore and Australia.
